FAQ – APP & OPERATIONS
Network & Operations
How do I connect the immersion heater to my Wi-Fi or LAN?
+
Wi-Fi
Press the Connection button (underside of the immersion heater, to the right of the power cable). The device will then set up an access point (Connection LED pulses blue). Using a Wi-Fi-enabled device, search for a network named "NOVOLTO-******" and connect to it. Then, scan the included QR code (No. 1) or visit the address http://192.168.2.1. Follow the instructions on the page.
LAN
Unplug the power cord and connect the LAN cable to the RJ45 port (underside of the immersion heater, left side). Then, restore the power connection. The immersion heater will connect to the novolto server automatically.
Note: DHCP must be enabled on your router for automatic IP address assignment.
Once successfully connected to your Wi-Fi or LAN, the Connection LED will pulse green.
How do I connect my Shelly, poweropti, or Tibber to the immersion heater?
+
Your reader (Shelly, poweropti, or Tibber) transmits your electricity meter's performance data to the respective provider via the internet. You can retrieve your data and track it over time in the Tibber or poweropti app.
To use the novolto application, you must first register your immersion heater (using its serial number and PIN) with novolto. This ensures that only you can control your immersion heater.
You then grant us permission to access the electricity meter data from your Tibber or poweropti by providing novolto with your Tibber or poweropti username and password to access the power data.
We use this data exclusively for controlling your immersion heater.
Why do I need a customer account with novolto?
+
By using your customer account, we ensure that only you can control your smart immersion heater and grant you access to the novolto app.
Where can I find the novolto app?
+
At https://novolto.app you can create your customer account for the app and then start using it.
First, you need to register your immersion heater. You will need the serial number and PIN. Either use the supplied QR code (No. 2) or enter the data manually. The PIN is below the QR code, the serial number is above the QR code. You can also find the serial number on the type plate on your immersion heater.
Then, enter your user data and create a login and password.
With your login and password, you can log into the app at any time and make settings for your immersion heater.
How can I add the app to the home screen?
+

After opening the app in the Safari browser, please select "Add to Home Screen [+]".
Android/Google
After opening the app in the Chrome browser, tap the three small dots in the top right corner to open the menu. Select "Add to home screen".
